LGBTQIA+

The Trevor Project is also a great resource https://www.thetrevorproject.org/resources/ or call them at 1(866)488-7386 or Text 678-678. 

The Humans Right Campaign doesn’t so much provide resources as they work to make changes in political policies that impact the LGBTQIA+ communities. Their website is https://www.hrc.org.

The Trans Lifeline offers a peer support hotline that you can call at (877)565-8860. Visit their website, here.

Medication Assistance

Most pharmaceutical companies offer financial support programs but often they are only for individuals that are uninsured.

Good RX will list the pharmacies in you area and the medication costs and often has links to coupons that can be downloaded or printed. 

Needy Meds is a similar program. However, sometimes this information is old or just not right so always check with your pharmacy before planning to use their information. 

Walmart is able to provide some of the lowest costs for medications around and they have several psych meds, the meds on this list are $4 for a 30 day supply or $10 for a 90 day supply.

Mental Health

National Association of Mental Health (NAMI) has resources for individuals with mental illness issues as well as for their families. 10AM-10PM Call 1(800)950-NAMI (6264), Text 62640, Email: Helpline@nami.org, Live Chat: name.org/help

The Black Mental Health Alliance (BMHA) can help connect individuals with providers who are black.

The Association Foundation for Suicide Prevention also has resources for those who are thinking about suicide or have had a previous attempt and their families. They also have support for those left behind after the completion of a suicide. For more information, click here.

Smoking Cessation

1-800-Quit-Now has a lot of resources for those trying to quit smoking click here for more information. There are also a lot of apps with features like how much money you saved by quitting, how many days (or years) you added to your life, etc.

Sexual Assault & Violence

RAINN (Rape, Abuse, Incest, National Network) supports the National Sexual Assault Telephone Hotline at 1(800)656-4673 and chat, that you can find here.

Substance Abuse

All of the below groups are anonymous groups that can be attended once and never again or you can become a regular at. You should never be pressured to share more than you want. You will hear and observe others who have similar issues as you, which is so impactful because you will see that you are not alone. Also, often have the option to join via Zoom or in person.

Alcoholics Anonymous they also have an app with features to find and save meetings.

Al-Anon Family Groups offers support to the families and friends of alcoholics

Cocaine Anonymous offers support to individuals with cocaine issues

Gamblers Anonymous offers support to individuals with gambling issues

Narcotics Anonymous offers support to individuals with narcotics issues
